I recently collaborated with David Kelsey of the BCS to write an article looking at how ITAM benefits businesses through its emphasis on managing costs and maximising ROI, as well as looking at how it’s developing as a discipline.

I noted that ITAM is following a similar trajectory to Information Security – a body of good practice is slowly becoming codified, but I also observed that like Information Security technology changes mean practitioners must stay up to date through regular professional development – such as the UK SAM Networking Events I run in conjunction with the BCS Configuration Management Specialist Group.
